How it works

Follow the exact steps to get your result instantly and privately.

Step 1

Step 1: Select your gender and unit

The DOTS formula uses mathematically distinct coefficients for men and women. Choose whether you'll input weight in pounds or kilograms.

The Math: The DOTS Formula

The DOTS (Dynamic Objective Team Scoring) system was developed to replace the aging Wilks formula. Using a massive dataset of recent powerlifting results from around the world, DOTS provides a statistically tighter correlation between bodyweight and strength. Like Wilks, it involves multiplying the lifter's total by a calculated coefficient, which is derived from a 4th-order polynomial equation.

Calculation Formulas

Coefficient = 500 / (A + Bx + Cx² + Dx³ + Ex⁴)
Where x is bodyweight in kilograms.
A, B, C, D, E are unique constants for men and women.
Worked Example

A 90kg male with a 650kg total would have a DOTS coefficient of roughly 0.637. His score is 650 × 0.637 = 414.05 DOTS.
